CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support is a nationally recognised qualification.

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

The CHC33015 Certificate III Individual Support is targeted to the roles of individuals who are wanting to provide support work to Disabled Clients living in group homes and in their own homes. This can be either existing workers without current qualifications or people new to the industry wanting to become involved in this type of role.


Simulated clinical skills training will be conducted and student attendance is compulsory. Local health industry employers will also be utilised to provide students with a minimum of 3 weeks workplace learning and assessment. Clinical placement is mandatory and students will be required to present endorsed timesheets with a minimum of 120 clinical contact hours.


This course is delivered over 36 sessions over 5 months. Mixed mode delivery which can include classroom, distance, workshops, work placement, recognition of prior learning.

Students are required to attend an information session prior to enrolling.


Students may be required to undertake:

  • an Adult Language Literacy & Numeracy assessment
  • Face to face interview
  • Current Police Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Health Employees Immunisations required prior to commencement
  • You must be 16 years of age or above


This course is subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible students

  • Student contributions are applicable and range from $1450 to $1750
  • Concession contribution to eligible students $240
  • Exemptions apply
