COURSE OVERVIEW

This course has been designed as an introduction into the vibrant and growing café scene, where job opportunities abound. This training can open up a plethora of roles including kitchen hand and café food and beverage assistant.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY NETWORKING

This training is delivered at the Riverina Community College in our functioning kitchen. This training involves both theory and practical components and is flexibly delivered.

This course allows the learner the opportunity to network with other trainees and industry throughout the learning experience, whilst gaining valuable practical skills which they can take into the workplace.

COURSE DELIVERY

Riverina Community College offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and recognises units achieved through other RTO’s via the Credit Transfer process.

This course is delivered over 8 sessions. Mixed mode delivery which can includes practical and theory.

STUDENT FEE

This course is subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible students

Assessments are made against units of competency.
  • Identify, measure and estimate familiar quantities for work (FSKNUM09)
  • Use hygienic practices for food safety (SITXFSA001)
  • Prepare and present sandwiches (SITHCCC003)
  • Provide responsible service of alcohol (SITHFAB002)
  • Interact effectively with others at work (FSKOCM07)
  • Read and respond to routine workplace information (FSKRDG10)
  • Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages (SITHFAB004)
