COURSE OVERVIEW

If you are wanting to kick start your career in the individual support field then this course is for you!

When working in community services you support people and make a positive influence on their lives. This kick starter course will give you a taste of caring for the wellbeing of others in the community, communicating with a diverse group of people, as well as practical skills to apply first aid to individuals in need.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered over 22 sessions for 11 weeks. Mixed mode delivery which includes classroom and self-paced learning.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To successfully complete HLTAID003, students must be capable of performing at least 2 minutes (5 cycles) of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

On completion of this short course, a Statement of Attainment for the following units will be issued:

  • FSKOCM07 – Interact effectively with others at work
  • FSKLRG09 – Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems
  • CHCDIV001 – Work with diverse people
  • CHCCOM005 – Communicate and work in health or community services
  • HLTWHS001 – Participate in workplace health and safety
  • HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid

Units from CHC22015 Certificate II in Community Services
These accredited units are Nationally Recognised.
