COURSE OVERVIEW

This skillset is from the qualification CHC22015 Certificate II Community Services. It may be used as a pathway for workforce entry as community services workers who provide a first point of contact and assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs. At this level, work takes place under direct, regular supervision within clearly defined guidelines.

Students will participate in the unit HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. On completion they will be issued with the qualification. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AND INDUSTRY NETWORKING

This training is delivered by an experienced industry expert in a supported and friendly class.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered over 10 sessions for 10 weeks. Mixed mode delivery which can includes practical and theory.

On completion of this short course, a Statement of Attainment for the following units will be issued:

  • CHCCOM005 – Communicate and work in health or community services
  • HLTAID003 – Provide first aid
  • FSKRDG04 – Read and respond to basic workplace information
  • FSKDIG01 – Use digital technology for basic workplace tasks
