Food Safety Supervisor - Refresher

Recertification applies to supervisors and managers of food businesses in NSW who wish to renew their certificate prior to the statutory 5 year expiration of their previously issued certificate.

There is a 30 day window of opportunity after the expiry date of this certificate to participate and obtain the NSW FSS Recertification.

To be eligible for the NSW FSS RECERTIFICATION course, you must be working in the industry and have access to a commercial kitchen. The five year RECERTIFICATION cycle provides a sufficient period to update an FSS’s skills and knowledge to current industry requirements, and aligns with changes to food laws.

On enrolment in the refresher, you must provide a copy of your FSS Certificate & Statement of Attainment.



Assessments are made against units of competency from the Certificate III in Hospitality SIT30616.
  • Participate in safe food handling practices (SITXFSA002)
  • Use hygienic practices for food safety (SITXFSA001)
