COURSE OVERVIEW

Learn the fundamental and essential skills for making beverages and sandwiches, wraps and rolls within a café environment.

Training will also cover the required skills to work safely and hygienically in a hospitality based situation and money handling skills.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY NETWORKING

This hands on training is delivered in a functioning kitchen. This face to face training involves both theory and practical components.

This course allows the learner the opportunity to network with other trainees and industry throughout the learning experience, whilst gaining valuable practical skills which they can take into the workplace.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course can be delivered over 6 sessions for 3 weeks. Mixed mode delivery which can include practical and theory components.

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

On successful completion of this short course, a Statement of Attainment for the following units will be issued:

ACCREDITED UNITS

  • SITXFSA001 – Use Hygenic practices for food safety
  • SITHFAB004 – Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages
  • SITHCCC003 – Prepare and present sandwiches

Units from SIT20316 Certificate II in Hospitality
These accredited units are Nationally Recognised.

NON-ACCREDITED UNITS

  • 120503T – Money handling in the workplace

On completion of this short course, you may be able to undertake:

  • SIT20316 – Certificate II in Hospitality
  • SIT30616 – Certificate III in Hospitality
