Cafe Skill Group

COURSE OVERVIEW

This Cafe' Skill Group is designed to provide participants with base knowledge and skills to assist them to commence work in the vibrant cafe' and hospitality industry.

On completion of this Skill Set, participants can follow a vocational pathway to further studies or gain employment in numerous roles which may include food and beverage attendant, kitchen hand or food handler.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY NETWORKING

This course allows the learner the opportunity to network with other trainees and industry throughout the learning experience, whilst gaining valuable practical skills which they can take into the workplace.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered over 12 sessions for 6 weeks. Mixed mode delivery which can includes practical and theory.

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

On completion of this short course, a Statement of Attainment for the following units will be issued:

ACCREDITED UNITS

  • SITXFSA001 – Use hygienic practices for food safety
  • SITHFAB004 – Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages
  • SITHCCC003 – Prepare and present sandwiches
  • FSKOCM07 – Interact effectively with others at work
  • FSKNUM03 – Use whole numbers and money up to one thousand for work
  • SITXWHS001 – Participate in safe work practices

Units from SIT20316 Certificate II in Hospitality
These accredited units are Nationally Recognised.

NON-ACCREDITED UNITS

  • 110109S – Basic coffee tecnhiques

On completion of this short course, you may be able to undertake:

  • SIT30616 – Certificate III in Hospitality
