COURSE OVERVIEW

Participants will develop their foundation skills in a fun interactive enviroment specialising in the area of creative hair styling.

This course is designed to support jobseekers build confidence, improve communication skills and work readiness. It also provides a pathway for students to build on the development of their writing and numeracy skills, while extending their digital technology and oral communication skills.

Students will learn the tricks and techniques of hair prepping, thermal iron use, braiding, gorgeous curling techniques and how to select products to support their hairstyling. Our course provides the students with manniquin heads & all equipment to perfect their techniques and build confidence.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered over 16 sessions for 16 weeks. Mixed mode delivery which includes classroom and self-paced learning.

On successful completion of this course, a Statement of Attainment for the following units will be issued:

  • FSKLRG08 – Use simple strategies for work-related learning
  • FSKNUM08 – Identify and use whole numbers and simple fractions, decimals and percentages for work
  • FSKNUM09 – Identify, measure and estimate familiar quantities for work
  • FSKOCM03 – Participate in simple spoken interactions at work
  • FSKRDG07 – Read and respond to simple workplace information
  • FSKWTG06 – Write simple workplace information
