h3. COURSE OVERVIEW

This specialised skill set gives participants the skills and knowledge required to provide facial treatments to meet client needs. 

This skill set applies to participants who currently work in salons or spas. 

Participants will focus on priorities with clients, synthesise knowledge of anatomy and physiology, skin science, cosmetic chemistry, and nutrition, and to design and provide facial routines and advice on products and protection of facial skin. Facials can be a single treatment or form part of a series of treatments. Participants will learn all the fundamentals of facial treatments, including:

• Maintain infection control standards

• Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations

• Provide specialised facial treatments

• Perform microdermabrasion treatments

h3. DURATION

This course is held every Monday for 14 weeks.
Time: 9:30am to 5:00pm

h3. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All students undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy evaluation prior to enrolling with our LLN Robot assessment tool.

Students must have at a minimum a Certificate III qualification in either sector hairdressing, beauty therapy or makeup or students must have at least 3 months of relevant and current work experience hairdressing, beauty therapy or makeup which can be verified by their current employer or references from previous employment.

Funding criteria applies

Concessions & eligibility criteria apply. This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Limited places are available.

Student Fee: $2060.00. Payable prior to course commencement for ineligible students.

h3. UNITS OF COMPETENCY

On successful completion of this course, a statement of attainment for the following units will be issued:

SHBBINF001 Maintain infection control standards

SHBBFAS002 Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations

SHBBFAS003 Provide specialised facial treatments

h4. NON-ACCREDITED UNIT

40920 Perform microdermabrasion treatments

h3. CREDIT TRANSFER OR RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

If you believe you have already undertaken any of this training, or have the current skills, please talk to your Trainer or Training Coordinator prior to course commencement. Credit transfer can only be applied by sighting organismal transcript of studies.
