COURSE OVERVIEW

Participants will develop their foundation skills in a fun interactive environment specialising in the area of jewellery silver smithing. This course is designed to support jobseekers build confidence, communication skills and work readiness.

It also provides a scaffolded pathway for students to more slowly build on the development of their writing and numeracy skills, while extending their digital technology and oral communication skills to a Certificate I level and developing a plan for their ongoing learning.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AND INDUSTRY NETWORKING

This training is delivered by an experienced industry expert and allows students to gain basic practical tool handling skills in a supported and friendly class.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered over 16 sessions for 16 weeks. Mixed mode delivery which includes classroom and self-paced learning.

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

On completion of this short course, a Statement of Attainment for the following units will be issued:

ACCREDITED UNITS

  • FSKDIG02 – Use digital technology for simple workplace tasks
  • FSKLRG08 – Use simple strategies for work-related learning
  • FSKNUM08 – Identify and use whole numbers and simple fractions, decimals and percentages for work
  • FSKNUM09 – Identify, measure and estimate familiar quantities for work
  • FSKOCM03 – Participate in simple spoken interactions at work
  • FSKRDG07 – Read and respond to simple workplace information
  • FSKWTG06 – Write simple workplace information
