Tech Savvy Seniors
Build your confidence using smartphones, tablets, and computers in a friendly, face-to-face session.
Tech Savvy Seniors is a NSW Government initiative delivered in partnership with Telstra. The program is administered by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice and delivered locally by Riverina Community College.
Eligible participants can attend free digital-skills sessions designed for people who are new to technology or would like more confidence using their device safely. Choose one session or enrol in several. Each session is a separate 2.5 – 3hr module.
Course details
- Cost- Free for eligible participants
- Delivery – Face-to-face, practical, and supported
- Duration – 2.5- 3 hours per module
- Locations – Wagga Wagga, Junee, Narrandera, Gundagai, Lockhart, and Cooma
- Wagga Wagga venue – Riverina Community College, 96 Murray Street, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
- Regional venues – Venue details will be provided before each regional session
- Bookings – Essential. Places are limited.
Who can enrol?
To participate, you must live in NSW and meet one of the following age requirements-
- be aged 60 years or over or
- be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Elder aged 50 years or over.
You should also have little, or no experience using digital technology or want more skills and confidence to use and adapt to technology. No previous digital skills or formal qualifications are required. When enrolling, select each module you wish to attend. If you select two modules on the same day, each module is recorded as a separate enrolment. Please bring the smartphone, tablet, or laptop you want to learn on, together with its charger, where possible. If you do not have a suitable device, contact RCC before the session to ask about available loan-device options.

Each morning and afternoon module is a separate session and requires a separate enrolment. Regional venue details will be confirmed with enrolled participants before delivery.

- Time to practise each skill on your own device
- Support for Apple, Android, tablets and computers where relevant to the module
- A friendly pace with regular checks for understanding
- A certificate of participation for each completed module
This is non-accredited and non-vocational community education. There is no formal assessment, qualification, or Statement of Attainment.
Your safety and privacy
RCC will not ask you to record or share your passwords, device PINs, banking details, payment-card details, or identity-document numbers through the enrolment form or during group activities. Media permission is separate from enrolment. RCC will obtain separate consent before taking or using identifiable photographs, video, audio, interviews, or quotes.
After each module, you will be invited to complete a short Tech Savvy Seniors participant survey. The participant survey is optional, and help can be provided if you choose to complete it.
