Apprenticeship and Traineeship
An apprenticeship or traineeship is one of the best ways to gain hands-on training and earn a nationally recognised qualification while being paid. More than just a foot in the door, these opportunities provide you with the skills that employers are looking for and are a great way to start your career. You can even begin your apprenticeship or traineeship while you’re still in school, and many of these programs are fee-free!

What’s an apprenticeship
As an apprentice, you’ll spend three to four years learning a traditional trade such as Hairdressing or Barbering, you will graduate as a qualified tradesperson.
What is a traineeship
As a trainee, you’ll spend one to three years, depending on your industry and qualification, learning a vocation in areas such as Business, Hospitality or Beauty Services.
School-based Trainees and apprentices
Are you still at school? School-based traineeships and apprenticeships allow school-aged students to start a trade or vocational qualification while still in high school. Students split their time between attending school, on-the-job training, and employment. This arrangement enables them to gain practical, hands-on skills in their chosen industry while continuing their education.
