COURSE OVERVIEW

Gain the skills to join this ever growing industry by enrolling in Certificate III in Individual Support – Ageing today.

Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical, and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory work placement of 120 hours must be completed with an aged care residential facility or community disability organisation employer.

You must be 16 years of age or above. Students are required to undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment and face to face interview prior to enrolment.

A current Police Check and Working with Children Check is required prior to commencement of work placement which is payable by student. Student may (depending on work placement host) be required to complete immunity screening prior to being accepted to a work placement host. Any boosters or vaccinations required by the student will be at their own cost.

To successfully complete HLTAID011, students must be capable of performing at least 2 minutes (5 cycles) of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an adult resuscitation mannequin placed on the floor.

This course is subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible students

  • Concession contribution to eligible students $240
  • Exemptions apply

If you believe you have already undertaken any of this training, or have the current skills, please talk to your Trainer or Training Coordinator prior to course commencement. Credit transfer can only be applied by sighting organismal transcript of studies.
