COURSE OVERVIEW

HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication is a nationally accredited unit.

Students will learn the skills and knowledge required to safely prepare for and provide support to clients requiring assistance with medication as a personal care worker in a
community, or residential aged care setting, under the supervision and delegation of a registered nurse.

This course is relevant for students currently working in aged care or disability support settings to aid or provide assistance with medication administration.

DURATION

This course is delivered via mixed mode delivery, consisting of:

5 x zoom sessions – Wednesday evenings
6:30pm to 9:30pm

1 x face to face simulated practical assessment

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All students undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy evaluation prior to enrolling with our LLN Robot assessment tool.

Students must have a minimum Certificate III qualification in either sector, aged care, or disability worker.

Students must have at least 3 months of relevant and current work experience in aged care or disability support which can be verified by their current employer or references from previous employment.
