Cultural Expressions Exhibition

On Wednesday, 17th April 2019, our Cultural Expressions class held their end of class exhibition! It was a lovely turn out. The students put in a big effort creating their artworks, this class was filled with such amazing talent :)

Brae Tye – No Limits

Brae Tye held his first solo exhibition, No Limits on Wednesday 3rd April 2019.

Brae’s artworks featured in No Limits were created using acrylic paint and pastel on black card, depicting bright red, yellow and orange tones in sweeping gestures.

The exhibition had a great turn out for the opening and it was lovely to see many people coming to support and celebrate Brae and his incredible artworks.

Succesful Grant Application

Congratulations to Kellie Hulm and Greg Carosi on their successful GASP Grant.

The grant was awarded to Kellie and Greg by Wes Fang, National Member in the Upper House NSW State Parliament.

The Project “Around the World” will consist of works by Greg and Kellie as well as collaborative works and will be on exhibition in the Wagga Wagga City Art Gallery E3 space.

Thank you to Scott Howie and Caroline for their ongoing support of local artists.

Temora Rural Museum Open Day

On Saturday, 10/3/2018 our ICEP group of artists unveiled their mural at the Rural Museum Open Day.

The mural is entitled “Song of Life” a collaborative piece painted on marine board using heavy duty house paint and sealed for long wear.

Student Success Story – Dylan Makeham

Dylan has been attending the College this year and has undertaken training in Certificate II in Hospitality and Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.

During Certificate II in Hospitality, Dylan was required to complete work placement. From the skills and knowledge Dylan gained from this work experience, it has given him the confidence to apply and successfully gain employment in his preferred hospitality sector.

We are very proud of his achievements and wish continued success.

NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards 2018

Riverina Community College and the Community Visitor Scheme are very proud to announce that our very own volunteer, Bernard Higgins has won the NSW Volunteer of the Year Award for Young Volunteer of the Year for the Riverina area.

Bernard volunteers at the Wagga Aged Care Facility “Home of Compassion”.

Bernard is a valuable member of the team at the Home of Compassion, one of his many roles is to coordinate the mobile library.
