The Art Factory, an artist-led studio designed to increase visibility and development of artists with disabilities, has successfully obtained a Transgrid 2023 Community Partnerships Program grant.

Part of Riverina Community College and the VERTO Group, The Art Factory has been awarded a $4,936.70 grant that will support an ‘Eco Green’ exhibition, an immersive virtual showcase that celebrates local artistry while promoting environmental sustainability.

The artworks featured in the exhibition will be accessible by a QR code placed on an information panel located in prominent Wagga Wagga locations, such as Willans Hill, and will highlight Transgrid’s commitment to delivering clean energy and sustainability while tackling issues of pollution and wildlife habitat.

"We are immensely grateful to Transgrid for their generous support of our 'Eco Green' initiative,” Art Factory Coordinator Leanne Dyer said.

“This grant will enable us to amplify our efforts in showcasing the remarkable talent of local artists while emphasising the importance of environmental consciousness through art."

This project aligns with The Art Factory's commitment to fostering creativity and community engagement in the Riverina, and the grant will help offer a platform for artists to creatively address environmental themes and inspire positive change within the community.

"This grant exemplifies the shared values between The Art Factory and Transgrid,” VERTO CEO Ron Maxwell said.

“We are very excited to be a recipient of the Transgrid 2023 Community Partnerships Program grant and look forward to the impact the 'Eco Green' initiative will have on the area’s arts community as well as raising awareness about sustainability and environmental issues."

The 'Eco Green' immersive exhibition is expected to run from 2 - 29 February, 2024. For more information about The Art Factory and its upcoming exhibitions, please visit https://www.theartfactorysupportedstudio.com/
